LOCAL AUTHORITY MAPS

Our most frequent requests for bespoke mapping come from local authorities, in particular parish councils looking to produce or update their local brochures.

These typically contain an overview map of the wider parish showing adjoining parishes plus a larger scale town or village centre map featuring a range of useful local information including places of interest, public houses, post offices and public amenities like car parks, churches, libraries, schools,  parks & gardens and WCs as well as footpaths, bridleways, byways and other rights of way.  Most of the map brochures also include a street index and index to places of interest as well as text and photographs of the area.

There is currently a great deal of interest, particularly from countryside organisations, to ensure that any historic rights of way are recorded on the Definitive Maps held by local authorities prior to the January 2026 deadline. This in turn is leading to many local authorities needing to update their map brochures.

All of our cartography is sourced from Ordnance Survey under licence (either our own licence or that of the client) and redrawn to a choice of style. We can either simply provide the bespoke mapping as a print ready pdf file for the client to take forward into production or we are also happy to undertake the production of the entire brochure including design, editing and printing.
