Ramblers Retreat is a self-catering holiday chalet suitable for two people. It is situated along the beautiful Undercliff in the peaceful village of Niton on the southernmost tip of the Isle of Wight, just a few minutes' walk from the coast and St Catherine's Lighthouse.
The Undercliff is part of an area of outstanding natural beauty which extends for about seven miles from Luccombe near Shanklin in the east, to Blackgang on the west side of Niton. The inland cliff which is the result of many landslips, is 200ft high in places and ensures that the Undercliff is sheltered from the northern winds and hence enjoys its own microclimate. The Ventnor Botanic Garden, a short drive from Niton, is ideally situated to benefit from this sheltered area and is renowned for its collection of sub-tropical plants.
The Round the Island Coastal Path runs through the Undercliff and walkers will find this a fascinating area to explore. Due to coastal erosion, the path comes inland half a mile at Niton where it passes our site before continuing along the top of the inland cliff towards Blackgang and then on to Freshwater and the West Wight.
Ramblers Retreat offers reasonably-priced and comfortable accommodation for two. The lounge area has a wide-screen television, with a Freesat box offering a multitude of both radio and television channels. There is also a DVD player together with a wide selection of discs. This combined with the fully equipped kitchen, double bedroom and en-suite wet room make for a cosy home away from home.
